Before we had a name, our Children's Story, Inc. was a small support group that took place once per month on a Sunday in a Library in Dekalb County, Georgia. After hosting these meetups for a while, I began researching what it would take to start a business helping the community I became a part of in 2005.
After researching, I decided that a 501c3 would be the best option to execute my mission to serve my son, peers, and the families that care for them. In 2016 I was granted the nonprofit status for Our Children's Story, Inc., in honor of my oldest son Anthony David Hicks Jr. "Moo."
Our Children's Story, Inc., brings awareness to Cerebral Palsy and Epilepsy, which are the 2 primary diagnoses my son, Anthony Jr., has. Throughout this journey of building an entity that honors such a beautiful little boy, we've served over 3500 families through our programs and services. We've provided everything from:
Our Mission is to help families become free from the struggles this lifestyle can bring. Help them gain relief from daily struggles through low-cost services.
Our Vision is to support families virtually and in person.
In the next 5yrs, with the help of community donations and grants, we will offer the following:
Our Children's Story, Inc stands by its Values. Without values, you cannot operate within the best interest of those your services. Value is the core of Our Children's Story, Inc.
